What to expect at J. Travis Price Park
J. Travis Price Park is the outdoor centerpiece of Robertson County, sprawling across 176 acres of rolling meadow, hardwood pockets, and two stocked fishing ponds. Locals come for the 1.2-mile paved loop, the well-kept playgrounds, and the seasonal splash pad, while weekenders find enough space to actually breathe. It sits about 4 miles west of the Downtown Springfield square, close enough for a quick lunch break, far enough that traffic hum disappears entirely.
Come early — the paved loop is busiest between 17:00 and 19:00 on weekdays, and the splash pad packs out by 11:00 on hot Saturdays. Park at the Wilks Road lot near the playgrounds for the shortest walk to amenities, or use the back entrance off Highway 431 if you’re heading straight to the fishing ponds. Bring cash for the vending machines; there's no cafe on-site, so a picnic is the move.

There is no public transit — drive to 4155 Wilks Road. Free lots hold roughly 200 cars across three entrances.
