Best markets in Springfield
Springfield has one weekly farmers' market, one solid antique mall, and a scattering of country produce stands that make the drive worthwhile. Here is where to go and when.
Farmers market stall with fresh produce in Springfield
Robertson County Farmers' Market
The main market runs Saturday mornings from 7am to noon, May through October, in the parking lot at 4635 Highway 41 South, just off Memorial Boulevard. About 15 to 25 vendors depending on the week: tomatoes and squash in July, sweet corn in August, apples and pumpkins in September and October. Prices are honest and cash is preferred, though most vendors now take Venmo. Get there before 9am for the best selection; the good tomato guy sells out fast.
Antiques, produce stands, and Amish country
Springfield Antique Mall on the square has three floors of dealers with strong prices on cast iron, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and Depression glass. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. Drive Highway 49 northeast toward Orlinda and you’ll pass Amish and Mennonite produce stands from spring through fall; expect $4 dozen eggs, $6 jars of jam, and honest pricing. Most are cash-only and closed Sundays. The Kroger on Memorial Boulevard is your fallback for anything you can’t find at the market.
